Classes

Beginning Needlepoint and Beyond classes taught by Colleen Harris have a $15.00 registration fee; you just need to sign up, purchase your supplies from our shop and attend one of her sessions. The registration fee is applied to the supplies you purchase. You will learn color, fiber differences, techniques as well as a variety of stitches during this one day class. If you have been doing needlepoint but never had a class, this is for you as well as the beginner. You will pick up tips and techniques that will help you with your stitching forever. Blank Canvas and Painted Canvas classes will be held monthly beginning again in January. Check the calendar to find one that meets your schedule. Private lessons for small groups can be arranged.

Finishing A Pillow

Kathy Shewmaker will be teaching the Finishing A Pillow class on December 4, 2008. You can sign up for one of two sessions to be held: 1-4pm or 6-9pm. The cost of the class is $20.00.

For this class, you must supply your own materials:

• your pillow canvas finished and blocked
• supply your own batting/fill for the pillow, or, a pillow form which is one inch (1") larger than the finished pillow size (so that it fully fills the corners)
• fabric for backing
• cording

Hand Painting A Canvas & Stitching Your Hand Painted Canvas

JP of Labors of Love will be teaching a class on painting canvas. You will learn to paint a basic heart shape, a rose with leaves, a metallic border and a checker-board background, a 4" x 4" design on canvas. The class will be held twice on Friday, November 21st; first class from 1pm to 4pm and the second will be from 6pm to 9pm. Cost is $55.00 and all supplies are provided; you only need to bring yourself.

On Saturday, November 22nd, Colleen Harris will teach a stitching class on the canvas you painted the day before. There is a class fee of $35 for the stitch guide and the threads kit.

Beginning Punchneedle

Colleen Harris will teach the basics of doing Punch Needle stitching. Punch Needle stitching is fast and easy. Many say this type is their favorite. Cost of the class is $10.00 plus the cost of the kit which includes thread, Lizzie Kate kit, hoop, and needle (~$40.00). The class will be held on December 12 from 10am to 1pm.

Beginning Needlepoint for Children

On January 19th, Colleen Harris will teach the basics of of Needlepoint for children from 8 years and older. There will be two sessions held for your convenience; one from 9am to 12pm and one from 1pm to 4pm. Bring your new stitcher to the session that best fits your schedule. The cost for this class is $10.00 plus the kit (TBD).

Mystery Class

We are offering a class of stitching where you do not know in advance what you will be stitching. The class will be held January 31, 2009 from 10am - 1pm. Watch for further information.

Needlepoint

The “sign up” for the Every Other Month Christmas Purse Series has begun (see finished piecesto the right). If you are interested, contact the shop and sign up for these sweet little Christmas Ornament Purses 770-591-2466. The cost of $55.00 includes the Kathy Schenklel Design painted canvas, Pam Sce's Stitch Guide, all of the fibers and embellishments, and mailing fee. We mailed the first kit the 23rd of September, the next kit will go out in November, then January, March, May and end with July.
